Paul Revere's ride

Paul Revere was a revolutionary and a silversmith from Boston in early 18th century. He helped create an intelligence and alarm system which would help keep a watch on British army. Well known to the day for Paul Revere's Ride, referring to the overnight journey he took along with William Dawes, to warn patriots about British Army's advances. Eventually the warning delivered helped patriots to successfully repel British army attack. After independence Paul got into mass manufacturing of metals. He discovered rolling copper sheets for the hulls of American ships, a technology that only British possessed at that time.
There is a famous poem about this historic event by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, find it here.
