Hillary has received two academy awards, for her roles in Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby. While preparing for Million Dollar Baby, story of a waitress turned boxer, she gained 19 pounds of muscle. Recently, Hillary starred in and executive produced Freedom Writers, a drama about a real-life teacher who inspires a California high school class to continue higher education. She was awarded Peace Award for her this role at the "Time for Peace" awards. Richard LaGravenese, director of the movie presented her this award at the Bel Air Hotel in Bel Air California.
