Rumor is about the legendary 1939 movie Wizard of Oz by Judy Garland, that in the original print of the movie, in the background of one of the scenes you can see a small shadowed figure hanging from a tree. The myth is that one of the dwarfs acting in the movie ended his life right on the set, because of unrequited love from the female Munchkin. Scene comes at the very end of the movie when Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodsman go down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City.
Irvin Welsh has produced a play based on this myth and has famously said "The point about myths is they don't have to be true, but people need to believe in them".
