Time of the year when people were buying gifts at the Westroads Mall, Omaha, Nebraska. Authorities have identified the shooter as Robert A Hawkins, 19, described by his family and friends as a depressed individual who was struggling to keep his job. As soon as shooting began people hid themselves behind desks, inside dressing rooms and the shooting continued. This wait continued for a terrifying 30 minutes, when the shooter eventually after killing eight people and wounding five, shot himself.
This was third such mall shooting incident this year, Trolley Square mall in Salt Lake City was one and Ward Parkway Mall in Kansas City was another.
