History of Halloween In Brief

2000 years ago Celtic festival of Samhain was celebrated as new year to mark end of harvest season and beginning of dark and cold Winter season, associated with death. And on the day of transition October 31st night, the dead come together with the living. Around 800s when Christianity spread the Celtic land, the day was named as All Saint's day or All-Hallows which eventually became Halloween.
