Hoda believes that discussing her journey of fight with Breast Cancer will help others. “I’m hoping that me telling about my journey and the kind of hell I went through will help somebody at home who thinks ‘Oh god, I’m by myself’ or ‘Oh no, there’s just me,” Kotb tells, in this Breast Cancer awareness month. “Because it’s not just you. It’s never just you. You know, there’s a whole bunch of us out there.” Reportedly there are 2.4 million breast cancer survivors today in America.
Her parents were born in Egypt and Hoda is an Egyptian name.
Hoda now hosts NBC's 4th Hour.
