James Conway is the name of a fictional character played by Robert De Niro, in the movie Goodfellas. Character was based on the real life gangster James Burke. Daughter of James Burke, Kathy, allegedly tried to get producers of the movie to shell out $100,000 for using the name Burke in the movie. So they used Jimmy's mother's maiden name Conway instead.
